چکیده

| A piezoelectric transducer (PZT) is capable of providing linear motion if controlled correctly and could provide a replacement for traditional heavy and large servo systems using motors. This paper focuses on a genetic model reference adaptive control technique (GMRAC) for a PZT which is moving a mirror where the goal is to keep the mirror velocity constant. Genetic Algorithms (GAs) are an integral part of the GMRAC technique acting as the search engine for an optimal PID controller. Two methods are suggested to control the actuator in this research. The rst one is to change the PID parameters and the other is to add an additional reference input in the system. The simulation results of these two methods are compared. Simulated Annealing (SA) is also used to solve the problem. Simulation results of GAs and SA are compared after simulation. GAs show the best result according to the simulation results. The entire model is designed using the Mathworks' Simulink tool.

Development of a High-Precision Touch-Trigger Probe Using a Single Sensor "2279

To measure various components with nano-scale precision, a new high-precision touch-trigger probe using a single low-cost sensor for a micro-coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is presented in this paper. The sensor is composed of a laser diode, a plane mirror, a focusing lens, and a quadrant photo detector (QPD). The laser beam from the laser diode with an incident angle is reflected by the pla...

Effects of Salinity and Laser Radiation on Proline Accumulation in Seeds of Spring Wheat

Laser is one of the sources that induce a biological effect in higher plants. The positive effect of laser on some crops has been proved. This research was carried out to study the effect of laser radiation on the accumulation of proline in spring wheat (Triticum aestivum cv. Kavir) under different NaCl treatment levels. Semi-coherent red beam, infrared beam and one-second harmonics of Neodymiu...

Using of Broadened Asymmetric Waveguide Structure for 980nm Diode Laser

Laser diode beam divergence is the main parameter for beam shaping and fiber optic coupling. Increasing the waveguide layer thickness is the conventional method to decrease the beam divergence. In this paper, the broadened asymmetric waveguide is introduced to decrease the divergence without increasing the optical power. The asymmetric waveguide was used to shift the vertical optical field to n...

Bessel–Gauss output beam from a diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser

We demonstrate a simple and compact laser source that directly produces a Bessel–Gauss beam. The laser resonator consists of a diode-end-pumped Nd:YAG crystal, a planar mirror, and a diffractive mirror designed to phase-conjugate only the lowest-order Bessel–Gauss beam. 2004 Elsevier B.V. Laser-diode-pumped Nd:YAG active-mirror laser.

We describe a simple design, laser-diode-pumped cw Nd:YAG active-mirror laser and present a thermal analysis of the crystal. A cw output power of 2.4 W and an M(2) beam quality value of less than 1.9 at an incident pumping power of 8.9 W were obtained. From the thermal analysis we predict that the output power can be increased by increasing the pump beam diameter and the pump power at a constan...
